Primary Duties Lead and execute all communication strategies, messages, and calendars Direct the Society’s marketing initiatives to increase organizational awareness Act as the primary media contact and spokesperson. Collaborate with the leadership team to align with the Society’s Mission and Strategic Plan. Manage all digital platforms, including the website and social media, ensuring consistent brand voice and storytelling Oversee marketing-related sponsorships, partnerships and events. Act as the primary point of contact for media, respond to story leads and generate positive media coverage of the Society. As required, act as the Society’s representative/spokesperson. Communications Manage the annual communications calendar and collaborate closely with the Leadership Team on all internal and external messaging. Write, edit, and disseminate all relevant communications, including messages, newsletters, reports, press releases, speeches, promotional copy, web copy, and all related collateral and publications. Ensure the Society’s voice, tone, brand, and messaging are consistent across all platforms and for all audiences. Marketing Leverage data, insights, and analytics to shape all marketing-related messaging and media choices. Prepare and execute annual marketing plans and related activities, including multi-channel awareness campaigns and digital content in conjunction with the Strategic Plan. Manage the Society’s website — design, content, and functionality — and related portals. Ensure the social media strategy, messaging, imagery, and responses are consistent, aligned with our guidelines and voice, and creatively and powerfully use storytelling at its heart. Oversee all marketing-related sponsorships, partnerships, brand integrations, and events. Events Plan events, with our primary event being ALS Walk Strong. Consult with leadership to define event goals, draft proposals, and establish budgets, reserve spaces, and manage timelines, participants and volunteers. Serve as the primary point of contact during events. Oversee setup, manage support staff and volunteers, troubleshoot unexpected issues, and ensure a seamless experience. Follow up with volunteers and participants to acknowledge support and obtain feedback. The ideal candidate will have: Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or a related field One year of relevant experience, preferably in the non-profit sector Exceptional writing, storytelling and editing skills Proficiency in platforms such as Constant Contact, WIX, Facebook, Instagram and Google Workspace. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset. Ability to work outside traditional business hours for events and travel within NS & NB as required. A clear and active commitment to the ALS Society of New Brunswick & Nova Scotia is paramount. This role is one of the Society’s primary ambassadors and requires a positive, warm, and outgoing person.
