As the Scheduling Assistant at Evergreen, you’ll play a key role in coordinating staffing for our long-term care, assisted living, and independent living communities. You’ll ensure coverage for planned and unplanned vacancies while delivering exceptional service to our teams and promoting a culture of safety, wellness, and respect. About The Role *This is a permanent part time, 32 hours a week, hourly position. Hours are 13:00pm - 18:30pm. Reporting to the Scheduling Manager, the Scheduling Assistant is responsible for filling short-call, long-call, and vacation shifts in compliance with collective agreements and established policies. You’ll manage scheduling systems, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with leaders and team members to ensure appropriate staffing coverage. With a strong focus on communication, accuracy, and service, your work supports our mission to foster vibrant, person-directed communities. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and adjust schedules based on coverage needs, availability, and scheduling rules Fill vacancies related to leaves, workload increases, and short calls Maintain ongoing communication with team members and leaders Enter and update data in computerized scheduling and timekeeping systems Audit schedules and timecards for accuracy and make necessary corrections Compile reports and scheduling statistics as requested Foster a welcoming and respectful environment for all team interactions Promote and model Baptist Housing’s values and commitment to servant leadership Participate in professional development and maintain working knowledge of safety protocols Requirements Minimum Grade 12 education Minimum one year of experience in scheduling, preferably in long-term care or healthcare. Experience interpreting and applying collective agreements Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Compensation & Benefits This permanent part time position offers an hourly wage of $31.19.
