Family Support Worker Must be available weekday afternoons and evenings. Must be available alternate weekends days and evenings. Must provide a current Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector We are seeking caring and compassionate Family Support Workers to join our team in a part time role and help us deliver on our mission to provide the highest quality therapy to children and their families by providing the best-personalized support systems necessary. WHAT YOU WILL DO * The role of Family Support Worker is to support youth and families in the community. In this role your responsibilities will include: * Acting as a mentoring to develop a rapport with individuals in need, expanding on their interest through the provision of opportunities throughout the community. * Provide respite and temporary care for youth in the community with the goal of enhancing familial relationships. * Provide transportation, to and from appointments or school as needed to effectively create a consistent and healthy routine. * Provide non-judgmental, trauma informed and culture friendly supports to provide families the guidance needed through conflict resolution, building healthier relationships and positive outcomes to challenges that arise within the family dynamic. * Collaborate with the parents of a youth to help implement structure and routines within the home, setting them and the child up for success within the home. * Provide In-School Support, working one-on-one with a youth during their school day. * Support supervised visits to ensure a child and their family member(s) can spend time with one another in a safe, supportive environment. THE EXPERIENCE, EXPERTISE AND EDUCATION WE VALUE * Experience in Nursing, Social Services, Home care, Educational Assistant positions, Early Childhood Education, Support Worker, Personal care aid, Human services support. * Certification in First Aid/CPR * Mental Health First Aid * NVCI/Mandt * ASIST/ASK * Valid driver's license/Driver's Abstract/Criminal Record Check/Social Development Check/1- million liability required. * Fluency in English is required (oral/written) * Ability to work with/around pets i.e., cats and dogs is required. * Schedule flexibility - days, evenings, overnight, weekends WHAT WE OFFER: You will receive a comprehensive compensation package that includes an industry competitive hourly rate, overtime eligibility, ten vacation days and more, including: * Flexible hours * Paid mileage * Paid sick days for FT and PT * Full benefits and pension/pension matching * Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) * Training and career advancement * Casual Dress SALARY: FROM $21 - $25 PER HOUR If you are interested in joining a team committed to making a difference in the lives of indigenous youth, we want to hear from you.
