Blue Sky Banff is dedicated to providing high-quality service, local knowledge, and a welcoming atmosphere for visitors from around the world. Role Description The Driver / Guide is a part-time, remote role focused on safely transporting guests between Calgary and Banff while providing engaging, informative commentary about local attractions and landmarks. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and following tour itineraries, conducting pre-trip vehicle checks, assisting guests with pick-up and drop-off, and ensuring a comfortable experience in a private SUV. The role involves answering guest questions, offering recommendations, and adapting tours based on guest interests and conditions such as weather or traffic. The Driver / Guide is also responsible for maintaining clear communication with the company, managing schedules, and upholding safety and customer service standards at all times. Qualifications Clean, valid driver’s license and excellent driving record, with strong defensive driving skills and confidence driving highways and mountain roads. Customer service and hospitality skills, including the ability to interact respectfully with diverse guests and provide a welcoming, professional experience. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain local history, geography, and points of interest in a clear and engaging manner. Good time-management and organizational skills, including itinerary planning, punctuality, and reliable schedule management. Knowledge of Calgary, Banff, and surrounding areas, or willingness to learn local routes, attractions, and safety considerations. Ability to perform basic vehicle checks (fuel, tires, fluids) and maintain a clean, comfortable interior for guests. Comfort working independently in a remote, field-based role, with reliable access to a smartphone and navigation tools. Prior experience in guiding, tourism, transportation, or related fields is an asset.
