Résumé du poste
Based in the Child Youth & Emerging Adult Program the donor funded Margaret and Wallace McCain Centre for Child, Youth and Family Mental Health (“McCain Centre”) is focused on enhancing and improving the design, delivery and effectiveness of mental health and addictions care systems, services and policies for diverse youth aged 12-25 through clinical and health services research. The McCain Centre combines established and innovative research techniques and includes a focus on ensuring youth voices are centered in their initiatives. As an equity-focused employer CAMH actively seeks Black, First Nations, Inuit and Métis candidates, those from diverse ethno-cultural backgrounds, gender diverse individuals, people with disabilities, people who have experienced mental health and substance use challenges, and additional diverse identities for our workforce. As a McCain Centre team member, you will ensure that McCain Centre values are implemented, particularly regarding anti-oppressive and anti-racist best practices and youth-centeredness. Reporting to the McCain Centre Manager and working closely with the Youth Engagement Coordinator and as part of a team, part-time, contract (12 months) Program Engagement Co-Facilitator will draw from their own lived/living experience with mental health and/or substance use challenges (patient, consumer, survivor, service user, family member) as well as a broader system level perspective within system and service planning, education and research activities at CAMH and in the broader community. Co-Facilitators will work alongside service providers, education and research staff to ensure that project and program goals, staffing, activities and outcomes are more relevant and better reflect the needs of people with lived/living experience. The Program Engagement Co-Facilitator will be responsible for co-facilitating advisory group meetings, focus groups and consultations with broader groups of people with lived/living expertise, including supporting a network of Advisors at CAMH. The Co-Facilitator will work alongside the Youth Engagement Coordinator and additional staff to provide mentorship for Advisors, so they are able to actively participate and represent a service user perspective in program activities. The Co-Facilitator will also contribute to knowledge translation and education activities, including the development of trainings, infographics, tip sheets, webinars, videos, etc. The Co-Facilitator will support social media/community engagement and will be responsible for contributing to blog posts and developing newsletters. The successful candidates will also support administrative tasks related to engagement activities as needed, including the recruitment and onboarding of new Advisors. The successful applicant will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, equity and inclusion, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. The Co-Facilitator will work alongside service providers, education and research staff to ensure that project and program goals, staffing, activities and outcomes are more relevant and better reflect the needs of people with lived/living experience. This position is located at 80 Workman Way. This role will require occasional evening and weekend hours. Through its core values of Courage, Respect and Excellence, CAMH is implementing its Strategic Plan: Connected CAMH, to transform lives, ignite innovation and discovery, revolutionize education and drive social change. CAMH is more than a hospital, it is a cause. CAMH is on a mission to change the way society thinks about and responds to mental illness. They aim to eliminate prejudice and discrimination and shape a world where mental illness is central to our healthcare system – a world where Mental Health is Health.
