Through partnerships with school boards and private schools, the organization provides free weekly office hours to support students with homework and academic challenges. Canada U-Tutoring also offers training, professional development, and volunteer or internship opportunities for educators and aspiring teachers, promoting continuous learning within the community. Role Description The Front Desk Assistant is a part-time, on-site position located in Markham, ON, responsible for creating a welcoming and organized environment for students, families, and visitors. Day-to-day tasks include greeting and directing visitors, answering phone calls, responding to email inquiries, and providing information about programs and schedules. The role involves managing student check-in and check-out, maintaining appointment calendars, handling basic administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and record keeping, and supporting registration and payment processing. The Front Desk Assistant will collaborate with tutors and administrative staff to coordinate classroom usage, communicate schedule changes, and ensure smooth front office operations. This role also assists with preparing materials for programs and events and upholds confidentiality and safety procedures at all times. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to interact effectively with students, families, and staff. Candidates should possess professional Phone Etiquette and Receptionist Duties experience, including greeting visitors, handling inquiries, and directing calls appropriately. Candidates should possess Administrative Assistance capabilities, such as organizing records, managing schedules, and performing accurate data entry. Candidates should possess reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a busy educational environment. Experience in an educational or community-focused setting and familiarity with basic office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, scheduling tools) are beneficial. Ability to work on-site in Markham, ON, during afterschool and early evening hours, and to maintain a professional, welcoming demeanor at the front desk. It is required that the candidate needs to have a valid G license and a personal vihecle.
