Role Details Canadian Cancer Society Lodges provide a place to stay for cancer patients during their treatments away from home. It is a supportive environment for people with cancer and their adult companions. As a volunteer at the Lodge, you play an essential role in creating a home away from home for the clients and their families. The Lodges are located near cancer treatment centres. Description - Washing and/or organizing the washing of the wigs - Working with stakeholders for wig maintenance - Validating the returned or donated wigs viability - Maintaining and organizing the wig room Why we need you At CCS, the Wig Bank and Breast Prosthesis Services Volunteers are vital in ensuring that all Canadians, no matter where they live, can access free wigs and breast accessories with just a simple call or click. What we're looking for - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills - Demonstrates compassion and self-awareness in virtual and in-person settings and enjoys working in a team setting - Knowledge and/or experience with hair dressing and styling are considered an asset *People from all walks of life with a variety of abilities and interests are welcome. Due to the scope of the role and responsibilities, volunteers must be at least 19 years of age or older.* Our Investment - Integration where you are part of a team and learn about the work of CCS - Lodge and role specific training Your commitment - Minimum of 1 shift per week - 4–6 hours per week, with flexible hours each month - A minimum commitment of 6 months is required
