Yard Attendant

Cornerstone Co-op invites applications for the position of Yard Attendant to join our Home Centre team on a part-time basis at our location in Wainwright, AB. Reporting to the Yard Supervisor. What you’ll do: * Engage and interact with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences. * Ensure department standards are met with inventory, ordering, stocking, merchandising, and displaying products. * Work with customers and contractors to answer inquiries about lumber and yard products. * Receiving of product in the yard and complete required paperwork. * Ensure proper maintenance and housekeeping. * Be familiar with and follow all safety procedures. * Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays on a rotational basis. * Demonstrate day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative's vision, mission, values, brand and focus on safety. * Perform other duties as assigned. Who you are: * You have Grade 12 education or equivalent retail and/or customer service experience. * You have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and can provide a satisfactory 5-year Standard driver’s abstract upon hire. * You can successfully complete a required pre-employment substance test. * Ability to regularly lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. * You are action oriented, customer focused and work well with other Team Members. * You are honest, trustworthy, results-oriented, and strive for excellence in your work. * You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver meaningful solutions, valuing diverse perspectives to achieve shared objectives. * You are customer-focused and passionate about delivering exceptional service and building lasting relationships. * You have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members, leadership and customers. The Yard Attendant is responsible for providing outstanding customer service while managing inventory, stocking products, and assisting customers with lumber and yard inquiries. They must also ensure the yard is maintained, follow all safety protocols, and complete necessary documentation for product receiving.

Candidates must have a Grade 12 education or equivalent experience and possess a valid Class 5 driver's license with a satisfactory abstract. The role requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and the flexibility to work rotational shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
