PM Dishwasher - Pigeonhole 17th

ABOUT THE POSITION Pigeonhole is looking for a PM Dishwasher to fill out their team on a part-time permanent basis. It is essential that you enjoy a fast-paced work environment and feel comfortable working both alone, and/or within a team. Must be available to work late nights. WHO WE ARE Pigeonhole was first dreamed up in the back of a London taxi. It was conceptualized as a place for spontaneity; a place you’d discover on your way to dinner and never leave. In the chef’s own words, the snack bar is "left of centre" with no specific culinary focus and includes a small but articulate natural wine, beer and cocktail list. Focused on serving small plates, the menu will give customers a culinary experience like no other in Calgary with creative dishes. WHAT WE OFFER * Hourly Wage: $17.00/hr * Gratuities * Duty meals * Extended health benefits after 90 days for employees working 28+ hours per week * 25% Company-wide food & beverage discount & access to frequent local business discounts/specials WHAT YOU'LL DO * Ensure a clean and sanitary stock of dishes, utensils, glasses, pots/pans, and cooking equipment is consistently available for kitchen and food service. * Sort, stack, and load dirty dishware into dish racks in an organized manner to maximize machine capacity and reduce breakage. * Operate dishwashing equipment in a safe and controlled manner. * Unload dishware, distributing and storing in designated storage areas. * Maintain ongoing communication with all departments affecting the kitchen. * Aid kitchen staff in food prep. * Ensure the highest level of hygiene and food safety is adhered to according to the restaurant’s standards. * Ensure that the dishwashing area and equipment is always maintained at the highest level of cleanliness. * Consistently conduct yourself in a professional and positive manner. * Aid in maintaining department objectives and ensure they are met and exceeded. * Perform other related ad-hoc duties as required. WHAT YOU HAVE * No previous experience required. * Strong organizational and time management skills required. * Strong English communication skills with ability to establish and develop relationships with team members, partners, and customers. * WHMIS Certification is required but can be obtained once hired. * Food Safe Certification is required but can be obtained within 30 days of being hired. * Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations. * Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).

Maintain a clean and sanitary stock of dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment while operating dishwashing machinery safely. Assist kitchen staff with food preparation and ensure strict adherence to hygiene and food safety standards.

No previous experience is required, but candidates must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. WHMIS and Food Safe certifications are required, though they can be obtained after hiring.
