Your Opportunity: The LPN provides safe care to patients diagnosed with a life limiting illness. This is an interdisciplinary, active treatment unit for patients who have complex physical and psychosocial needs that often require intensive support. Family and friends are considered to be part of the unit of care as they too can require significant support. Description: Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own. The LPN works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement. Classification: Licensed Practical Nurse Union: COV AUPE AUX Unit and Program: Unit 43, Palliative Care Unit Primary Location: Grey Nuns Community Hospital Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 0.70 Posting End Date: 21-SEP-2026 Employee Class: Regular Part Time Date Available: 31-OCT-2026 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 4 Shifts per cycle: 14 Shift Pattern: Days, Nights, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $33.16 Maximum Salary: $43.42 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. Additional Required Qualifications: Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills are required. Excellent assessment skills are required. Preferred Qualifications: Recent experience in a tertiary palliative care unit or palliative care setting or final preceptorship in palliative care is preferred.

Exigences

Candidates must be graduates of a Practical Nursing program with active registration with the CLHA and a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) certification. Proven critical thinking, problem-solving, and assessment skills are required.
