Det'on Cho Group of Companies is dedicated to developing the next generation of Yellowknives Dene leaders. One way to achieve this is to encourage higher education among our community members. We are pleased to announce the Det'on Cho Group of Companies' scholarships for the 2026-2027 academic year. There will be a maximum of (8) eight scholarships available to full-time students, each valued at $2,500, and (5) five scholarships available to part-time students, each valued at $1,000. These scholarships will be awarded to Northern Indigenous members pursuing post-secondary education. FULL-TIME ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: * NWT Resident * Awarded to Northern Indigenous students who are Impact Beneficiary Agreement Holders. Priority will be given to Yellowknives Dene First Nations Members. * Enrolled in a fully accredited post-secondary program * Be considered a full-time student PART-TIME ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: * NWT Resident * Awarded to Northern Indigenous students who are Impact Beneficiary Agreement Holders. Priority * will be given to Yellowknives Dene First Nations Members * Enrolled in courses as a part-time student or participating in a training program * Be considered a student YOUR APPLICATION PACKAGE MUST INCLUDE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING: * A cover letter introducing yourself can include hobbies, biography, etc. (minimum 500 words) * Fully completed application form (attached) * Two professional letters of reference (past Educator or Employers) * Proof of Beneficiary (copy of Indian status card or letter) * Proof of Residency (copy of NT Health Care Card) * Acceptance letter from post-secondary institution (if first-year student), OR proof of registration for the coming year (2nd year students or higher) * Copy of Official transcripts TO APPLY: Please send in your completed application package with all the listed requirements mentioned above (incomplete applications will not be considered), through one of the following ways: Online: www.detoncho.com/scholarships [//www.detoncho.com/scholarships] * When uploading your application online, please ensure to combine and scan all required documents into one document prior to uploading.
