JOB TITLE: CHILD & YOUTH WORKER | #2228 SERVICE AREA: Early Learning & Youth Services LOCATION: Leisure Challenge (Renfrew-Collingwood) START DATE: September 01, 2026 TERM/STATUS: Permanent Part-Time SCHEDULE/HRS: Monday 13:00 - 18:00; Tuesday to Friday 14:00 - 18:00 // 21 hours per week Part-time during school days, Temporary full-time hours during school breaks (winter, summer, and spring), and professional development days. HOURLY WAGE: $26.43 - $29.26 as per collective agreement (2024 rates, implementation of new collective agreement is in process and new wage rates $28.04 to $31.04 will be implemented once funding is received) Role: The Child & Youth Worker ensures the provision of an enriched leisure program by providing opportunities for learning and skill development for youth with disabilities. The Child & Youth Worker designs educational and recreational activities that promote individual growth. Minimum 1 year direct experience with youth in a recreational setting. Strong interpersonal and team building skills. Formal training in the area of counselling and behavior management. Requires physical strength, good balance, mobility and endurance for recreational activities. Criminal Record Clearance Medical Clearance Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract Unrestricted Class 4 Driver's License or Class 5 Driver's License, and are willing to obtain a Class 4 Unrestricted Driver's License Valid First Aid/CPR Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification - training will be provided Demonstrated competency in English written and verbal communication Basic computer literacy Eligible to work in Canada *This position requires Union membership.
