Relief: Yes Float: Yes Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required: No Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events. and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption: No Education * Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses * Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training * International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) * Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) * Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) Competencies * Conflict resolution skills * Basic - Computer skills * Interpersonal skills * Verbal communication skills * Written Communication Skills * Listening skills Knowledge and Abilities * Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. * Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care * Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations * Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis * Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions * Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively * knowledge of legislation and regulations which governs practice * Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking * Ability to work independently and as a member of a team * Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement Other Information * Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level * Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period. The Emergency Medical Technician responds to emergency and non-emergency events to provide assessment, treatment, and transportation for ill or injured individuals. They must adhere to provincial ambulance acts, clinical practice protocols, and health authority policies while working as part of a team.

Candidates must hold a Primary Care Paramedic Certificate and a valid Class 4 driver's license. Additional requirements include certifications in ITLS, BLS, and CPR, along with the physical ability to perform pre-hospital emergency care.
