Home Care Assistance Barrie is excited to announce 1 casual position opportunity for a Mental Health Registered Nurse (RN) with three (3) years of experience to join the team in Barrie, Ontario. We're looking for a dedicated professional to make a meaningful impact in the community. This is an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse looking for flexible shifts and ready for the challenge of working with an extremely unique and rewarding patient population! Our Mental Health Nurse (MHN) will provide Mental Health services to our clients in a primary health care setting where they are responsible for assessment, nursing diagnosis, development and implementation of care plans, crisis intervention, counseling and life skills programming to the clients in the clinic. The successful candidate’s areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following: * Conducting assessments and reassessments * Developing, monitoring, and updating plans of care, as assigned * Providing medication support and administration * Responding to all emergency situations * Driving to community and facilities * Completing reports and communicating with the family about any changes in care * Meeting the Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario at all times * All other duties, as assigned Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to: * Current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario * • Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) Level C. Annual recertification is required. * Vulnerable sector screen within last 6 months and 2 satisfactory professional references * • All Nurses - Mental Health must be Registered Nurses or Registered Psychiatric Nurses. • Registered Nurses must, as a minimum, possess: • A Degree in Nursing from a recognized college or university with either a certificate in Mental Health Nursing or certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA); • A Registered Nurse license from the provincial or territorial professional college or association in the province of practice • Certificate of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as Cardio-pulmonary * 2 year(s): MHN Experience * Drivers license and insured vehicle Please submit the appropriate documents for review.
