The Role We are looking for a Service Coordinator / Technical Support Specialist to join our Toronto team. This is a unique, hands-on role combining coordinating service requests, customer support, technical troubleshooting, parts support, and equipment service. The successful candidate will become the primary point of contact for customers and service partners requiring technical assistance with Italiana FoodTech equipment. You will develop a strong understanding of our equipment, how it operates, common service issues, preventative maintenance requirements, and troubleshooting procedures. You will be responsible for helping manage service cases from the initial customer request through diagnosis, coordinating external technicians, parts replacement, customer follow-up, and final resolution. This job will require hands on experience working with mechanical equipment and strong technical knowledge of how machines work. Service Department Responsibilities: Respond to incoming service requests by phone, video call and email in a professional & timely manner Gather the necessary information to properly assess service requests, including equipment model, serial number, photos, videos and a description of the issue. Coordinate service requests, including scheduling technician visits, and communicating service requirements to customers and service providers. Follow up with customers and technicians to ensure service requests are progressing and resolved. Review technician findings and service reports and coordinate next steps when additional parts or repairs are required. Assist with managing service parts inventory and coordinating replacement parts as required Coordinate parts shipments, and ensure prompt delivery to customers and service providers. Utilize mechanical skills to work with the warehouse department to assist with equipment troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance as needed in the Italiana FoodTech showroom and warehouse. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, service requests, technician findings, parts used and case resolutions. Communicate across time zones with customers, service providers and manufacturers to troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate solutions. Assist in creating resources for common repair, service and maintenance procedures for customer and technician reference. Work closely with other departments to coordinate billing, shipping and service solutions & escalate complex technical issues to manufacturers or internal management when required. Manage database of product manuals and parts lists, sourcing missing materials as needed. Qualifications Previous experience in customer service, service coordination, equipment technical support & repair, preferably in the foodservice industry. Previous experience working with commercial restaurant or food-service equipment is a strong asset. Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills for both mechanical and electrical components and a willingness to develop an in-depth understanding of commercial foodservice equipment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical information to customers and service providers with varying levels of knowledge. Detail-oriented with strong organizational & time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple open service requests and priorities simultaneously. Proactive and resourceful problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset and the ability to take ownership of issues through resolution. Comfortable working with tools and performing hands-on equipment troubleshooting and basic repairs Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, exploded parts diagrams, wiring diagrams and other technical documentation is an asset Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical and gas equipment systems is an asset. Strong computer skills working in a Mac environment, with the ability to learn service management, inventory and internal business systems. Valid G Licence required Languages English fluency required Italian a strong asset French is an asset Benefits On site parking Health insurance benefits package. Hours & Location Full-time, on-site position at our Toronto office Located near Dufferin & Steeles Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day Flexible start time between 7 and 9am. Occasional communication outside regular business hours may be required when coordinating with Italian manufactures or customer/service partners across different time zones. Pay: $32/hour starting
