Early Childhood Educator Assistant (Part-Time)
About the Role

As a Part-Time ECEA, you are a foundational member of our childcare team. You’ll work alongside experienced ECEs to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children can play, learn, and grow. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who values a reliable weekday schedule and wants to build long-term relationships with families and coworkers.

What’s in it for you?
  • Wage: $21.00 per hour
  • Hours: Part-Time (Up to 30 hours per week).
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, with shifts scheduled between 7:00 am – 5:30 pm.
  • Location: Parksville, BC.

Job Duties:
  • Team Collaboration: Work as a key member of an integrated team that prioritizes inclusion, excellence, and positive conflict resolution.
  • Engaging Activities: Help carry out and evaluate developmentally appropriate experiences for children, using modeling and questioning to spark curiosity.
  • Daily Support: Follow program schedules that balance indoor/outdoor play and group/individual activities according to BGCCVI standards.
  • Safety First: Maintain constant supervision and ensure all children are engaged in safe, age-appropriate activities.
  • Care & Routine: Attend to the physical needs of children (including diapering, toileting, and nutrition) with empathy and professionalism.
  • Clear Communication: Help maintain accurate records, including daily attendance and communication logs, to keep our programs running smoothly.
Qualifications:
  • Certification: Approved ECEA Certification through the Early Childhood Registry of B.C.
  • Safety: Valid First Aid/CPR certificate approved by Community Care Facilities
  • Reliability: Commitment to a consistent Monday–Friday schedule. A valid Driver's License is considered an asset.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a licensed childcare facility is preferred, along with a passion for working with children birth to 5 years.
  • Eligibility: Must be 19 years or older and legally entitled to work in Canada.
