The National Arts Centre (NAC) is Canada's bilingual, multi-disciplinary home for the performing arts. The NAC presents, creates, produces, and co-produces performing arts programming in various streams-the NAC Orchestra, Dance, English Theatre, French Theatre, Indigenous Theatre, and Popular Music and Variety-and nurtures the next generation of audiences and artists from across Canada. The NAC is located in the National Capital Region on the unceded territory of the Anishinabe Algonquin Nation.

Manager, Parking Services & Facilities

Key Activities

The Parking Attendant is responsible to ensure a safe, proper, and orderly flow of traffic in and out of the parking areas of the National Arts Centre (NAC). This responsibility also involves inspecting the parking premises and reporting all abnormalities and irregularities to management. Additionally, the Parking Attendant will be assigned to help clients with the touchless parking equipment at times of entry and exit from the garage. They would be also occasionally assigned outside the parking garage entrances to block traffic. The incumbent also provides information and service to NAC patrons upon their request.

Skill Requirements

  • Bilingual in both official languages (English and French) is mandatory;

  • High school diploma;

  • A minimum of one (1) year of related customer service experience;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, tact and diplomacy;

  • Ability to follow directions and work with limited supervision;

  • Must be friendly, upbeat, and work well with other employees and be able to interact with guests;

  • First Aid and CPR certificates would be an asset;

  • WHMIS training a definite asset and will be required upon hire;

  • A past record of satisfactory attendance and punctuality is a requirement*.

  • Regular attendance at work is an expectation of employment and an essential part of every job.
