ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill and Experience)

• Current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

• BScN preferred.

• Current BCLS certification.

• Minimum 3 years Emergency experience.

• Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale Education and experience with triage

• IV certification.

• Certification in delegated medical acts specific for Emergency Nursing.

• Cardiac module of Critical Care Course or equivalent required, within past five (5) years.

• Certification in ACLS.

• Certification in TNCC (Trauma Nursing Care Course)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support, ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)

• Health teaching skills that demonstrate a broad knowledge of Adult and Paediatric Emergency Care.

• Non violent Crisis Prevention Intervention Training

• Demonstrated problem solving skills, communication skills and critical thinking skills.

• Member of RNAO preferred

• Satisfactory attendance.
