Institute of Communication, Culture, Information and Technology University of Toronto Mississauga Winter 2027 Sessional Instructional Assistant Positions Posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement EMERGENCY POSTING   Posting Date: July 17, 2026 Closing Date: July 22, 2026  The following Sessional Instructional Assistant positions are currently available. For course description, schedule of classes and practical sessions, see the University of Toronto Timetable Builder at: https://ttb.utoronto.ca/. Faculty/Division: University of Toronto Mississauga Session: Winter 2027 (S) Department: Institute of Communication, Culture, Information & Technology.   The ICCIT invites applications from qualified candidates who are not current University of Toronto students.   Appointment dates: January 1 to April 30, 2027 for ‘S’ courses.   Qualifications (unless specified): Must have completed formal education/experience specific to the subject area. Must be familiar with Quercus. Demonstrated teaching excellence and advanced technological skills are required. For marking positions, candidates must be able to work well under time constraints and meet deadlines. Duties (Include but are not limited to one or more of the following): Conducting in-person tutorials and maintaining scheduled office hours, student e-mail contact, grading, invigilating, and clerical duties. Practical invigilation is required. The mode of instruction for the courses is in-person.   How to Apply: A separate application package is required for each course. Information Technology (IT) Consulting is a growing profession that embodies the use of computer-supported collaborative tools in the execution of business functions. In this course students engage with the principles of Computer Supported Co-operative Work (CSCW) through an experiential opportunity to work with a real client. Students create an IT Consulting company and take on the role of consultants, learning core skills (soft and hard) necessary for this profession, including client management, communication, ideation, analysis and solution development, project management, presentation skills, and web design. Using case studies we discuss consulting lessons learned and problems to avoid within the context of industry best practices. January 1- April 30, 2027 PRA0101 Thursdays 1-3pm Anticipated Course Enrolment: 40 Approximate Size of Appointment(s): 38 hours Estimated Number of Positions: 1 Additional Qualifications: Experience in IT consulting required. Undergraduate degree in Digital Enterprise Management. Communication Technology or related discipline required. Experience presenting to groups, including undergraduate students would be beneficial.

The rate of pay for a Sessional Instructional Assistant (SIA) is $55.25 per hour plus vacation pay in accordance with CUPE 3902, Unit 3 Collective Agreement. Please note that should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.   This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. It is understood that some announcements of vacancies are tentative, pending final course determinations and enrolment. Should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.   Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement. Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.   All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
