ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
-
Current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
-
BScN preferred.
-
Current BCLS certification.
-
Current Certification in Venipuncture.
-
2 years recent surgical experience within the past 3 years.
-
Health teaching skills that demonstrate broad surgical nursing know ledge.
-
Excellent computer skills.
-
Member of RNAO preferred.

Satisfactory attendance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)

Provision of nursing care to meet the Standards of Practice of College of Nurses.

Collaboration within an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, involving the patient and family.

Act as a liaison for patients/families with members of the health care team.

Work collaboratively to identify and implement process improvements to better meet the needs of patients and families.

Maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.

Participation in various hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives.
