We examine unique health challenges faced by groups including Indigenous peoples, racialized minorities, gender and sexual minorities, socioeconomically disadvantaged individuals, and persons with disabilities. Through an interdisciplinary lens, students explore social factors and how they ‘get under the skin’ to affect human biology. This course integrates current research, case studies, and real-world examples to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted challenges and opportunities in promoting health and well-being among marginalized populations.
