Role Description The Chef is a part-time, on-site role located at Living Water Retirement Residence in Collingwood, ON. This position is responsible for preparing, and presenting nutritious, appealing meals that align with residents’ dietary needs and preferences. Daily tasks include maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen in compliance with health and safety standards. The Chef leads kitchen staff, coordinates meal service, and works closely with management and care teams to support resident satisfaction. The role involves interacting with residents, responding to feedback, and ensuring a welcoming dining experience that reflects the community’s resort-style environment. Qualifications Professional culinary training or equivalent experience, with strong skills in meal preparation, and presentation. Knowledge of nutrition, special diets, and food safety regulations, especially in a senior living or healthcare setting. Experience supervising kitchen staff, organizing workflows, and fostering a collaborative, respectful team environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with residents, families, and colleagues. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the residence’s schedule. Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in hospitality, resort, or retirement/long-term care environments is an asset. Valid food handler certification and familiarity with local public health requirements.
