Fitness Consultant I

Role: Fitness Consultant 1 Reports to: Fitness and Training Manager WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU: * Free facility access based on hours worked plus a variety of free and discounted programs & services. * Employee recognition program. * Annual staff events including BBQs, Corporate Challenge, December holiday party and many more. * Free parking and close to transit with a C-train and bus stop steps away. WHAT YOU’LL DO: * Provide personalized and professional customer service in person. * Build relationships with members and provide legendary service. * Respond to general customer inquiries about fitness and the facilities. * General maintenance, upkeep and tidiness of the Fitness Centre area. * Maintain safety standards. * Handle immediate first aid needs. * Conduct tours for prospective new members. * Clean fitness equipment as outlined. * Educate customers and enforce Dryland rules. * Maintain a professional appearance at all times. * Complete special projects as assigned. * Provide support for special events as required. * Provide support to Duty Managers/Fire warden for security within the facility and parking lot. * Set up and take down of recreational equipment (e.g. Volleyball nets). * Set up and take down of special events. * Assist Group Fitness with sound system when necessary. * Assist other departments with task as requested. * Monitor all dryland bookings and communicate any discrepancies. * Compile statistics of the facility as required. WHAT YOU’LL NEED: * Completion of high school diploma * Interest in Kinesiology or related field * Experience in a weight room, as a participant or employee is considered an asset * CPR C (recertified within one year) and Standard First Aid (recertified within 3 years) – recertify within 2 years required before employment can commence. * Knowledge of fitness, along with excellent customer service, communication, problem solving, and ability to deal with conflict in a diplomatic manner will help ensure your success. * This position does require occasional heavy lifting and employee must be able to lift up to 50lbs and assist in moving heavy sport equipment. The Fitness Consultant provides personalized customer service, conducts facility tours, and maintains the fitness center's cleanliness and safety standards. They also assist with event setups, monitor bookings, and provide support to management for facility security.

Candidates must have a high school diploma and valid CPR C and Standard First Aid certifications. The role requires the ability to perform occasional heavy lifting of up to 50lbs and a professional demeanor.
