Résumé du poste
Company Description Nor-Fab System Built Homes, established in 2007, supports communities in northwestern Ontario by providing affordable, high-quality housing options. The company offers a wide selection of pre-designed and custom floor plans, ensuring each home meets the unique needs of the homeowner. Nor-Fab partners with Shelter Home Systems for home construction while overseeing all aspects of the process. This includes placing and verifying factory orders, coordinating delivery and set-up, and managing the final inspection. Nor-Fab is committed to customer satisfaction and does not consider a project complete until the homeowner is fully satisfied. Role Description The Multi-Craft tradesperson role is a part-time, remote position focused on supporting the construction, installation, and maintenance of system-built homes. Day-to-day tasks may include providing remote guidance on carpentry, drywall, basic plumbing, electrical, and finishing work, as well as coordinating with on-site teams to resolve technical issues. The tradesperson will review plans and specifications, advise on construction methods, and help ensure that homes are installed to company standards and local codes. Additional responsibilities may involve documenting work procedures, offering troubleshooting support, and collaborating with Nor-Fab staff to improve building and installation processes. Qualifications Strong practical experience in multiple trades such as carpentry, drywall, basic plumbing, and minor electrical work. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, floor plans, and technical specifications. Knowledge of residential building codes, safety practices, and quality standards. Comfort with remote work tools (phone, video calls, email) for advising and coordinating with on-site teams. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing and resolving construction or installation issues. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with homeowners, contractors, and internal staff. Previous experience in modular or system-built home construction and maintenance is an asset. Relevant trade certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
