Term of App't: Regular, Part Time (15 hours per week) Start date: Immediately Reporting to: Dean of Academics Salary $39,049.00 - $44,268.00 annually in accordance with the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement, with annual increments up to a maximum salary of $57,000.50. This position is entitled to 120 hours of vacation annually, pro-rated and front-loaded, in addition to paid time off between the Christmas and New Year's Day. We offer an extremely competitive extended health and dental benefits program. Enrolment in the College Pension Plan is optional for those staff in this division, with contributions being matched by the Employer. Description The University Arts & Sciences Department invites applications for a regular, part-time Social Sciences Instructor to deliver courses, on our Dawson Creek campus. Courses will include those across the social sciences, including, but not limited to: Anthropology, Sociology and First Nations Studies. The ability to teach in other areas such as English and/or Women's Studies will be considered an asset. The successful candidate will be required to deliver courses utilizing a variety of delivery modes including face-to-face, videoconference, and online (synchronous and asynchronous). Qualifications Required: Master's degree in Anthropology or Sociology, or a closely related discipline. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to positively contribute to the College environment are essential. A supportive attitude to students and a strong commitment to student success. Ability to collaborate as an effective team member. Preferred PhD in Anthropology or Sociology. The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) or equivalent credential in adult education. Experience with online and blended delivery methods. Demonstrable success in teaching at the post-secondary level; and Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students.
