Job Description Nova Scotia Health is seeking family physicians to join a new and developing team at the Lunenburg County Primary Care Clinic (PCC) which is located in the Medical Arts Building Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. The Lunenburg County PCC provides temporary primary care access to patients registered on the Need a Family Practice registry and living in the Lunenburg County area. The clinic provides appointments for people who have an immediate health care need that requires care. Patients can make an appointment with a healthcare provider at the clinic while they continue to remain on the registry to find a family practice. This clinic is collaborative in nature and will consist of family physicians, nurse practitioners, family practice nurses, care team assistant, social worker and pharmacist. It is managed by Nova Scotia Health with administrative support and is fully integrated on a Med Access. This is a well-maintained facility with access to a meeting space. There is free on-site parking for staff and patients. Lunenburg County PCC will work closely with community partners to deliver health education that align with PHC principles. Responsibilities ensure the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness be accountable for appropriate workload and practice continuum of patient care with health care providers within your practice and/or community provide care and coordination of community-based care, secondary and tertiary level heath care operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority work in collaboration with other team members in the practice to best suit the community’s health needs work with other providers to provide after-hours access and emergency coverage when required participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members Expected Hours permanent, full or part time available Sessional hourly rate available Flexible hours can be accommodated Incentives Nova Scotia Health offers a variety of incentives designed to relieve some of the pressure, cost, and difficulty that comes with relocation. The physician will provide primary care services to patients registered on the Need a Family Practice registry within a collaborative clinic environment. They are responsible for maintaining professional standards and quality of practice in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws.

Applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia and certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is also required.
