PARC Retirement Living is an award-winning developer and operator of independent senior-living communities. We’re seeking a Night Housekeeper to join our Mulberry PARC team in Burnaby. As a PARC Night Housekeeper, you are a caretaker of this vision, responsible for night-shift janitorial and safety/security duties. Most importantly, Night Housekeepers are the first responders in case of overnight emergencies. This role includes: * Cleaning and sanitizing common areas according to a pre-set schedule. * Performing laundry services as needed. * Answering phone calls and screening visitors at building entry points. * Conducting security patrols and monitoring video surveillance to ensure resident and staff safety throughout the night. * Responding to resident calls and emergencies; providing First Aid and contacting emergency services and the on-call manager as required. * Logging and communicating overnight issues or occurrences. It takes a special kind of person to work here – does this sound like you? * You’re an upbeat team member and customer-service professional who brings positive energy to all you do. * You have at least two years of janitorial or housekeeping experience in the hospitality or senior-living industry. * You have solid knowledge of security procedures. Building security training and/or completion of a Building Services Worker Program are assets, as well. * You have completed Grade 12 or equivalent, and are able to read, write and effectively communicate in English. * You possess current WHMIS, First Aid and CPR certifications. A Health Care Aide qualification and FOODSAFE Level 1 would be assets, too. * You’re able to self-direct and work effectively with minimal supervision, and also respond to emergency situations effectively when required. * You understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and other professional services engaged with our residents. At PARC Retirement Living we require a Criminal Record Check, and a TB test within the first month of employment.
