This is a dynamic, hands-on role that blends teaching, mentoring, and leadership in a fun, supportive, and well-organized aquatic environment. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 📌 NEED TO KNOW Job Type: Casual Part-Time Location: Bishop Strachan School 298 Lonsdale Road, Toronto, ON, M4V 1X2 Scheduled Days: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🏊‍♀️ ABOUT THE ROLE As a Lesson Supervisor / Instructor, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality swim lessons while ensuring the safety, professionalism, and smooth operation of our programs. You’ll spend your time between teaching lessons and supervising in water and on deck, supporting instructors, students, and families in collaboration with our Swim Management Team. You’ll also have opportunities to support administration, equipment, and staff training, making this an excellent role for experienced instructors looking to grow their leadership skills. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🔑 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Deliver exceptional instructional and safety-focused swim programs in line with Pedalheads Swim standards * Provide friendly, professional customer service and confidently answer questions about our programs * Mentor and support swim instructors, offering constructive feedback and coaching * Monitor lessons and ensure program quality, safety, and teaching standards are consistently met * Remain on-deck, alert, and ready to step in when support is needed * Fill in for instructors as required due to illness or absence * Ensure classes run on time and student progress evaluations are completed * Communicate regularly with the Swim Management Team regarding staffing, customer feedback, and program activity * Respond to emergencies, perform first aid, and coordinate rescues when necessary * Complete required incident reports and follow-up documentation accurately * Attend and actively participate in required training, meetings, and clinics * Identify and report health and safety concerns within the facility -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🧾 REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS * Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certification (Current) * Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard – Pool Certification (Current) * Intermediate First Aid & CPR-C and/or Standard First Aid & CPR-C Certification (Current) * Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor Certification (Current) is considered an asset * *Additional certifications are an asset and may result in a higher starting wage -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ✅ WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR * Prior experience in aquatics as a Swim Instructor and/or Lifeguard * Supervisory experience is an asset * A customer-first mindset with a willingness to go the extra mile * Friendly, outgoing, approachable, and positive attitude * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Reliable transportation * Availability for evenings and weekends * Criminal record check required -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ✨ WHY YOU’LL LOVE WORKING WITH US * Small class sizes that allow you to focus on quality instruction * Warm pools for a comfortable teaching environment * Consistent, reliable scheduled shifts * On-deck leadership and support from experienced supervisors * Ongoing training and professional development * Opportunities for growth and skill development * The joy of teaching kids how to swim * All new hires will receive in-house training, ongoing mentoring, and job shadowing with experienced Lesson Supervisors. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🔎 WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE HIRING PROCESS Application Your profile will be reviewed within a week, and you’ll hear back from us regardless of the outcome. Deliver high-quality, safety-focused swim lessons while supervising instructors and ensuring smooth program operations. Provide mentorship to staff, manage customer inquiries, and coordinate emergency responses on deck.

Must hold current Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor, National Lifeguard, and First Aid/CPR-C certifications. Prior experience in aquatics is required, with supervisory experience and a criminal record check being key assets.
