ACTIVATION AIDE Position: Activity Aide Status: Casual (on call) Location/Home: Regency LTC, Port Hope, ON Wage: $22.60/ hour Schedule: Day shift (8am-4pm) and evening shifts (11:30am-7:30pm) About Us At Regency Long Term Care in Port Hope, we are committed to creating a warm and welcoming environment where residents feel cared for, respected, and engaged. Position Summary We are currently seeking a compassionate, energetic, and enthusiastic Activity Aide to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will assist in planning and delivering recreational and therapeutic programs designed to meet the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs of our residents. Your work will play a key part in promoting resident engagement, improving their quality of life, and encouraging a positive and stimulating environment. Qualifications Community college recreation certificate or diploma, or equivalent education in recreation or activation. Experience working with seniors, preferably in a long-term care setting. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Computer skills considered an asset. Valid driver’s license required. Energetic, compassionate, and dedicated to improving the lives of elderly residents. Key Responsibilities Assist in the planning, organizing, and implementation of meaningful programs and activities that meet individual and group needs. Promote a supportive and inclusive team environment, working collaboratively with the Program Manager and volunteers. Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and staff from other departments. Participate in developing, assessing, and updating individualized resident care plans through team conferences. Support the maintenance and care of activity department equipment and supplies. Uphold Occupational Health & Safety standards at all times. Attend in-service education sessions to remain current on best practices. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Manager. Skills & Abilities Ability to motivate and encourage residents to participate in activities. Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt programs to residents’ needs. Compassionate approach and genuine interest in working with seniors. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting. Why Join Us?
