Summary Of Duties Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Occupational therapist is responsible for assessment and intervention, including recommendations for follow-up as required (i.e. Home Care Program, community or rehabilitation resources) in collaboration with the interprofessional team to provide person-centred care within the Neonatal Follow Up Clinic. The Occupational therapist participates in quality improvement initiatives, evaluative processes that include the use of standardized and valid outcome measures, report writing, and research activities. The Occupational therapist participates in continuing professional development activities including the provision of clinical and educational in-services that foster ongoing learning, professionalism, interprofessional collaboration and best practices for paediatric outpatients. The Occupational therapist acts as a resource to related therapy students on an ongoing basis, in support of Sunnybrook’s full affiliation with the University of Toronto, and is a resource for the education of interprofessional students as required. The Occupational therapist is an expert resource for staff, students and other health care providers related to paediatric developmental therapy, and also participate on appropriate committees pertaining to the operation of the Neonatal Follow Up Clinic and participate in profession-specific activities within Occupational Therapy practice groups. Qualifications/Skills MSc (OT) Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario required Relevant and current ambulatory paediatric clinical experience Working knowledge of prematurity, developmental delay, cerebral palsy, and feeding challenges Experience and comfort with children with special needs from 0-8 years of age Proficiency in administering and scoring Bayley Scales, Movement ABC, Mullen Scales of Early Learning, Sensory Profile 2 and in providing feedback to parents at the visit regarding their child’s assessment results and any other concerns observed or reported by parent during the visit Experience in school age assessments under supervision of Developmental Pediatrician Knowledge of school and community resources and services for school age children Training in appropriate intervention for children with developmental delay and disability Ability to work constructively in a team environment Strong time-management and organizational skills Member of the relevant professional association recommended Experience in leadership activities, including quality improvement projects

Exigences

Candidates must hold an MSc in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. Required experience includes ambulatory paediatric clinical work and proficiency in administering standardized developmental assessment scales.
