Topics include real estate economics, legal principles, valuation, property management and the processes of buying, selling and leasing. The course also covers investment structures, development, urban planning, public policy and real estate investment trusts (REITs). Emphasis is placed on how real estate differs from other asset classes, with topics including appraisal, zoning, taxation and government involvement. A variety of property types, including residential, commercial and industrial, are examined. Course type: C Posting type: Régulier / Regular Language of instruction: Anglais | English Competence in second language: Passive Course Schedule: Mercredi | Wednesday 19:00-22:00 - - Requirements: Must have a Master's or MBA degree (PhD preferred) related to real estate or a professional designation along with extensive knowledge (minimum 10 years) of real estate economics, urban planning, real estate investment trusts (REITs), legal principles, valuation, property management and the processes of buying, selling and leasing. Must demonstate an understanding of the real estate dynamics within Canada including a variety of property types (residential, commerical and industrial) and connections with industry partners. Must demonstrate previous experience in leveraging experiential learning to support a dynamic learning environment. Teaching mode: Please note that the teaching method will be delivered in person. Teaching method might incur changes due to health measures or other reasons.
