Job Description: Job Description The Warehouse Associate’s position is a physical fast-paced and labor-intensive role within a warehouse environment that involves sorting/stocking packages as well as loading and unloading them into and out of UPS package delivery vehicles and trailers. Job Type: Part-Time - Permanent Work Location: 575 Harwood Ave North, Ajax Ontario, L1Z 0K4 Workdays: Tuesday to Saturday-4:00am to 9:00am Shift Duration: 3-5 hours per day *(Flexibility is required with both the start and finish times). All Applicants must work a minimum 25 hrs/ week Responsibilities and Duties: Load and unload packages into package delivery vehicles and trailers Learn and properly execute company-established package handling methods Sort and stock packages based on postal codes Qualifications: Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (35kg) Full availability to work Monday to Saturday Ability to read and memorize postal codes Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment Comfortable working inside truck trailers and package delivery vehicles Warehouse experience (would be considered an asset) Compensation and Benefits: $18.50/hr. / automatic progression as per the existing Union Collective Agreement. Unionized position with automatic progression as per the existing Union Collective Agreement (top rate of $36.53/hr. after 48 months of service Tuition reimbursement up to $2,000 per semester (subject to eligibility, program approval, and satisfactory academic performance) Paid training Weekly Pay via Direct Deposit- Every Friday Personal paid days off (Eligibility Requirements) 2 weeks of paid vacation after 1 year of service (3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 20 years, and 6 weeks after 25 years) Extended Health Care Benefits (Vision, health, life insurance, and dental benefits after one year of service) Immediate access to UPS ‘Employee Discounts’ Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Employee Referral Bonus Program (conditions apply) Free Onsite Parking Opportunity for advancement within a Fortune 50 Company EXPENSES/WORKING CONDITIONS: Monthly union dues (approximately $52/month) A union initiation fee of $50 (will be deducted after completing 90 working days with UPS) Exposed to hot/cold temperatures when working warehouse environment and outdoors Employee Type: Permanent UPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
