We are currently looking for a Group Wellness Instructor to join our team of committed professionals. This Part-Time position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Chippewa location in North Bay. Under the leadership of the Health & Wellness Supervisor, the Group Wellness Instructor facilitates group wellness classes including class preparation and choreography. This position also conducts tours to members and potential members, executes member retention tasks, follows up with potential members and actively engages and builds relationships with members participating in their group wellness classes. This job is also responsible for safety of members and participants while in group fitness classes. START DATE: As Soon As Possible LOCATION: Chippewa, North Bay, ON RATE OF PAY: $ 18.27 to 19.23 per hour HOURS: 20-29 hours per week Major Responsibilities Instruct safe and effective group wellness classes Motivate and inspire clients to attain goals Be a positive role model for members Proactively recruit members to participate in group wellness classes Maintain effective communication with clients and YMCA staff Plan, choreograph and train in all areas of group wellness Ensure all required paperwork is completed in a timely fashion Incorporate SAM Standards into daily responsibilities Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization Qualifications Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) College diploma or University degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Kinesiology or Human Kinetics, or a related field of study. Three to six months of experience instructing group fitness classes required Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Self-motivated and a strong team player Ability to meet deadlines Excellent organizational and time management skills Excellent customer service skills Physically fit Demonstration/Performance of exercises Occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds WHMIS Certification Current Standard First Aid and CPR C Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check What We Offer As a charity and community-based organization, we know how important connection and wellness is, and we offer a workplace that invests in people.
