INTERNAL ONLY!!!!We are currently looking for Head Lifeguard/Instructor to join our team of committed professionals. This Part-Time position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Durham location in Sudbury. Under the leadership of the Supervisor, Aquatics, the Head Lifeguard/Instructor provides on deck leadership and support to aquatic staff, ensures safe and effective daily operations on the pool deck, and upholds YMCA policies, procedures, and standards to deliver high-quality aquatic experiences and ensure participant satisfaction. START DATE: As Soon As Possible LOCATION: Durham, Sudbury, ON RATE OF PAY: $19.23 per hour HOURS: 10-20 Hours weekly What You'll Do: Ensure the safety of patrons at all times Provide leadership on the pool deck during the aquatic program schedule including regular tasks like water tests, slide operation and swim level assessments Respond to inquiries regarding programs promptly Be a positive role model for all program participants Lead emergency/incident response on the pool deck as required Coordinate swim lesson attendance lists and staffing Communication with program participant guardians Provide recommendations regarding policy, procedures and process development within the department Complete incident reports for submission to the supervisor Complete pool logs Accept and approve swim lesson progress reports Coordinate staff to complete daily cleaning tasks Maintain a clean and welcoming environment Incorporate Y Way Standards into daily responsibilities Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization What You'll Bring: Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) preferred National Lifeguard certification (NL in good standing) YMCA Swim Instructor Certification Lifesaving Society Instructor and/or examiner considered an asset Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a leadership role Advanced computer skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Current Standard First Aid and CPR C Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check What We Offer As a charity and community-based organization, we know how important connection and wellness is, and we offer a workplace that invests in people. Exigences

Candidates must hold National Lifeguard and YMCA Swim Instructor certifications along with current Standard First Aid and CPR C. A minimum of one year of leadership experience and a satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check are required.
