Server Aspira Mayfair Terrace Retirement Living - 2267 Kelly Avenue, Port Coquitlam, BC, V3C 6N4 Rate of pay: $21.38/hr This posting is for an existing vacancy. This is a Casual (ON-CALL) position to pick up shifts when we are short-staffed. We are looking for someone who would be able to pick up an 11:00am-7:00pm shift any day of the week. As a Server, you will support residents’ health and well-being by assisting with meal preparation and service, ensuring a safe, clean, and pleasant dining experience every day. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day. What makes you a great fit? * Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving and cleaning tables; * Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department; * Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures; * Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef; * Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour ready; * Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness. * Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act What you need to know: * Basic Serving experience is required; * Must have Serve it Right Certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days; * Must have Food Safe Certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days; * Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team; * Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process an asset; * Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds * Effective verbal and written English communication skills required * You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit * You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check * Sienna Senior Living may utilize artificial Intelligence to screen or assess applicants for this position Sienna Senior Living is committed to employment equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
